Project Description:

The applicant proposes to improve an existing gasoline station, including convenience store and car wash, which is located within the 100-foot Adjacent Area of NYS-regulated Freshwater Wetland DP-22 (Class 1) at 1827 State Route 22. The project site is on the west side of Route 22 approximately 800 feet north of the intersection with County Route 21. Upgrades include removal/replacement of existing underground fuel tanks with two (2) double-walled tanks (10,000 gallons and 16,000 gallons each), removal of an existing kerosene pump and above-ground tank, expansion of an existing gasoline pump island and upgrading of pumps, upgrading landscaping and building facade, and expanding the parking area width by five additional feet of asphalt paving to conform to zoning code requirements. All tanks, piping, and pumps shall be per code and properly contained with leak detection sensors. No disturbance of Freshwater Wetland DP-22 itself shall occur. Any issued permit would contain conditions to protect the wetland and its natural resources, including the use of erosion control measures to prevent any silt, sediment, or contaminants from entering the wetland.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a total of ten (10) stormwater outfalls to the 100 foot adjacent area of Freshwater Wetland ML-10 (Class I) in conjunction with the construction of a 660 linear foot common driveway and development of a 5-lot residential subdivision, Blue Chip Houses, Ltd., on a 24+acre parcel. The stormwater outfalls are being constructed to correct existing erosion at the site. Activities proposed within the adjacent area of the wetland include minimal grading and filling in order to construct the outfalls. No disturbance to the wetland is proposed; the total area of disturbance to the adjacent area of the wetland is less than 0.1 acre. The project is located on the east side of Hilltop Drive, south of NYS Route 6N in the Town of Carmel, Putnam County.

Project Description:

The Town of Clarkstown proposes to conduct work in three separate locations within a stretch of the Demarest Mill Creek [Index# NJ-1-10, Class C(T)] that runs between Demarest Mill Road and Strawtown Road and located just east of Clarkstown South High School. The proposed project activities include: (1) removal of silt and sediment that has accumulated just above and below the culvert that carries Demarest Mill Road over Demarest Mill Creek; (2) the removal of the top portion of the dam (~ 6 feet) located approximately 450 feet downstream of the Demarest Mill Road culvert behind the residence at 3 Demarest Mill Road; and (3) the replacement of gabion baskets located behind the residence at 353 Germonds Road with a natural boulder rock wall. The gabion baskets to be replaced were washed out during the 2007 storm. The Town of Clarkstown has received funding from the New York State Emergency Management Agency's Disaster Recovery Program to preform activities (1) and (3).
