Cattaraugus County - The County of Cattaraugus Industrial Development Agency, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Win-Sum Ski Corp. 2009-2010 Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the following:
- The acquisition and installation of certain machinery and equipment and the making of other improvements to the existing ski resort which will include, but are not limited to, the making of various improvements to the ski lift to include the acquistion of a detachable quad chairlift and other equipment for mountain operations, re-grading and seeding of the lift area and construction of two (2) small lift houses.
- The granting of certain financial assistance with respect to the project, including potential exemptions from certain sales and use taxes, real property taxes, real estate transfer taxes and mortgage recording taxes.
- The lease (with obligation to purchase) or sale of the facility to the Win Sum Ski Corp. or another person agreed upon by the Win-Sum Ski Corp. and the County of Cattaraugus Industrial Development Agency.
The project is located on Holiday Valley Road in the Town of Great Valley, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS
Chautauqua County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Adoption and Implementation of a Master Plan for Midway State Park. A hard copy of the Master Plan/Final EIS is available at the following locations: the Midway State Park Office, at the offices of the agency contacts listed below and at the Bemus Point Library, 13 Main Street, Bemus Point and the Prendergast Library Association, 509 Cherry Street, Jamestown, NY. The online version of the Master Plan/Final EIS is available at the following publically accessible web site: http://www.nysparks.state.ny.us/inside-our-agency/public-documents.aspx. The Public Consideration Period for the Final EIS ends Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Comments may be e-mailed to: Midway.Plan@oprhp.state.ny.us.
The action involves the adoption and implementation of a Master Plan for Midway State Park. The plan includes proposals for resource protection and for recreational use including enhancement of public shoreline access through construction of docks, a car top boat launch, trails and boardwalks, improvements to pedestrian circulation and safety by removing traffic from the center of the park, and construction of a parking lot, regeneration of natural vegetation, improvements to the layout of the amusement rides, restoration of the historic Hippodrome and carousel buildings, rehabilitation and rearrangement of picnic pavilions and the addition of some new comfort facilities. The Master Plan/Final EIS describes potential environmental impacts and mitigation of those that may be adverse. Areas that have been evaluated with respect to impacts include: soil erosion and water quality, threatened and endangered species, animals, historic and archeological resources and transportation and traffic. The Final EIS also contains a section on Comments and Responses on the Draft Master Plan/Draft EIS. The Midway State Park is located in the Hamlet of Maple Springs and Town of Ellery, New York.
