Extension of Public Comment Period

Lafarge Building Materials, Inc.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) is extending the Public Comment period for the renewal of the Title V permit for the existing Lafarge Building Materials Inc. Portland Cement Facility located at US Route 9W, Ravena, in Albany County, New York.

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than January 11, 2010, which is a 38-day extension from the original deadline. Original notice was published in the NYS DEC Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB) on November 4, 2009, and can be found at http://www.dec.ny.gov/enb/20091104_reg4.html#401240000100112.

Negative Declaration

Schenectady County - The City of Schenectady, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Erie Boulevard Reconstruction will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reconstruction of Erie Boulevard and the associated infrastructure, including roadway drainage system, curbs, sidewalks, traffic signals, utilities, etc. The proposed cross section will include two travel lanes in each direction, a raised median between I-890 and State Street, new curbs, and sidewalks. The project also includes provisions to improve access and mobility through the project limits through the consolidation of driveways and parking areas, the inclusion of new pedestrian amenities, and intersection improvements to the intersections of Erie Boulevard/Liberty Street and Erie Boulevard/Union Street. The project is located along Erie Boulevard from I-890 to Union Street in the City of Schenectady, New York.

Schenectady County - The Town Board of the Town of Niskayuna, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Serafini Motors will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reuse of a boat sales and service business to an automoblie sales and service business on an existing parcel. The project is located 3410 State Street in the Town of Niskayuna, New York.
