Project Description: Sonoco Products Company is proposing a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) at the present Grief, Inc Facility on Colvin Boulevard in the Town of Tonawanda. The work plan will address soil and groundwater contamination associated with former facility operations. The proposed work plan will utilize In-Situ Thermal Treatment of soil and monitored natural attenuation of contaminated groundwater. In addition, an environmental easement will be placed on the site restricting future site use to the current commercial use and restricting groundwater use.
Comment Period: A 45 day public comment period on the RAWP and Draft Decision Document will begin on November 18, 2009 and run through January 4, 2010. The documents can be reviewed at the document repositories located at:
