Suffolk County - The Huntington Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rezoning of Commercial Parcels in the Northport-Fort Salonga Road (NYS 25A) Corridor will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a resolution by the town. The first portion of the resolution eliminates the C-7 Highway Business District and replaces it with the C-7 Minor Commercial Corridor District. This portion had no direct impacts because there were no parcels previously zoned C-7 in the Town. The second portion of the resolution rezones areas of the Fort Salonga Road Corridor (NYS 25A) adjacent to the Village of Northport that were zoned C-4 Neighborhood Business, C-5 Planned Shopping Center, and C-6 General Business to the new C-7 Minor Commercial Corridor zone. The new zoning more closely matches the commercial zoning on the Northport side of Fort Salonga Road and is consistent with the Town's recently adopted Horizons 2020: Comprehensive Plan Update. The project is located on commercially-zoned parcels along Fort Salonga Road (NYS 25A) adjacent to the Village of Northport in the Town of Huntington, New York.
