Project Description:
The proposal involves a 10.8-acre Life of Mine expansion to an existing 8.3-acre Life of Mine sand and gravel mine with material processing (screening/crushing), on lands owned by David and Christopher Huestis. The new total Life of Mine will be 19.1 acres, of which 12.3 acres will be affected during the next 5-year term. No new equipment will be introduced. The mine will be reclaimed to grasslands, with slopes graded to 2 horizontal to 1 vertical. The mine is located on the East side of Vineyard Road in the Town of Ticonderoga. The proposal is also under review by the Adirondack Park Agency (#P2009-187).

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
