ENB - Region 8 Notices 11/4/2009

Negative Declaration

Orleans County - The Town of Gaines, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Gaines Water District No. 10 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the extension of public water along portions of Sawyer, Kent, Transit and Densmore Roads in the Town of Gaines. Approximately 21,440 linear feet of watermain will be installed. In addition to the watermain, the project includes hydrants, valves, a master meter pit, road crossings, excavation and bedding materials, watermain connections, residential hook-ups, and surface restoration. Residents in these areas are dependent upon individual groundwater supplies that historically have produced very low yields of poor quality water. The project is located on portions of Sawyer, Kent, Transit and Densmore Roads, Town of Gaines, Orleans County, NY.
