The action involves the expansion of an existing permitted 37.6 acre hard rock quarry by an additional 200 feet in depth only. The expansion will not increase the life of mine area, but will increase the depth of the mine by 200 feet, increasing by 15 million tons, the amount of material to be removed over approximately a 29 year period, depending on market demand. The action also includes the application for an Air State Facility permit to operate on-site crushing machinery. The project is located off Route 81 in the Town of Coxsackie approximately one half mile east of the hamlet of Earlton, New York.
