ENB - Region 8 Notices 10/07/2009

Negative Declaration

Monroe County - The New York State University Construction Fund, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed State University of New York (SUNY) at Brockport Special Events Recreation Center and Landfill Parking Lot V - West will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a Special Events Recreation Center (SERC) building which will be adjacent and attached to the present physical education building (Tuttle North), and will encompass portions of the area presently occupied by Parking Lots U and V, the tennis courts, north and west entrances to Tuttle North, and the grassy and wooded area between Parking Lot V and Commencement Drive. A new front entry loop road from New Campus Drive to the Special Events Recreation Center Lobby will be constructed, and existing parking Lots U and V will be reconfigured. Parking Lot U will be made smaller, while Lot V will be reduced and moved to the west with an access point from New Campus Drive. The new configuration will have realigned pedestrian walkways. Six existing tennis courts will be eliminated and the remaining six courts will be relocated to the south of Lot V. V-Lot West (former municipal dump) will be located to the west of the proposed SERC and the redesigned SERC parking Lot V. V-Lot West will extend into and incorporate a portion of the wooded area between the present parking lot and Commencement Drive. The project is located at State University College at Brockport on New Campus Drive in the City of Brockport, New York.
