Project Description:

The applicant proposes restoration of an eroding athletic field and stream bank protection work along a 500 lineal section of Cold Creek. The project includes the construction of a temporary bypass channel and construction of a new stream channel with heavy rock riprap bank protection, bendway weirs, rock vanes and vegetative plantings to protect the field from erosion. Material excavated for the bypass channel and newly constructed stream channel will be used to restore the athletic field. The bypass channel will remain in place to act as a relief channel during high water events. The project site is located at the facility address listed above in the Village of Fillmore.

A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to create a seasonal storage facility for the Lake Erie/Niagara Ice Boom at the Killian Trucking property located along the Buffalo River, near the foot of Hamburg Street, west of Katherine Street. The new facility will involve riverfront modifications and beautification which includes installation of a new sheet pile section and further repair to an existing bulkhead, construction of inboard wharves within the new sheet pile wall, installation of a gravel-lined launching/retrieval area, construction of a barge berth and boat ramp, a dry dock boat maintenance and storage area; construction of a crew facilities building, green space public access and recreational area with boardwalk, canoe and kayak launch, seasonal floating docks; installation of a noise and visual barrier, landscaping, demolition of old buildings, on-site debris cleanup and yearly river inlet debris cleanup.
