Project Description:

The Department has evaluated the SCSD Yaphank County Center Wastewater Treatment Facility pursuant to New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS) and has determined that changes to the permit are necessary. Therefore, pursuant to the Uniform Procedures Regulations [6NYCRR Part 621.13(a)] the Department intends to modify the permit to remove the monitoring requirements for two effluent parameters. Specifically, the requirements to monitor methylene chloride and cholroform are deleted from this modified permit. Pages and footnotes have been updated, revised and re-ordered. The changes are tentatively scheduled to be effective on November 30, 2009. A copy of the draft modified permit can be reviewed at the Region 1 office. The facility is located at Suffolk County's Yaphank County Center on Yaphank Avenue in Yaphank, Town of Brookhaven.

Project Description:

The applicant is seeking a 10 year maintenance dredging permit. The applicant proposes to dredge to maintain irregular shaped areas adjacent to the mooring areas and at the mouth of the inner boat basin to 8 feet below apparent low water. The resultant approximate 650 cubic yards of dredge spoil for the first year and approximate 200 cubic yards each year thereafter to be disposed of at an approved upland site. The facility is located off Bay Street in Sag Harbor, Town of East Hampton.
