The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) §27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor (named above) has submitted a BCP application asking that this site be admitted into the BCP.

NYS DEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

NYS DEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Village of Southampton Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Meadowmere Partners LLC & Meadowmere Associates LLC Lot Line Modification and Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the reconfiguration of the boundaries of two existing lots through the transfer of 74,556 square feet of lot area from Lot 2 to Lot 1 and the transfer of 14,509 square feet of lot area from Lot 1 to Lot 2. The reconfiguration results in the creation of two uniformly rectangular parcels having lot areas of 190,735 square feet (Lot 1) and 132,991 square feet (Lot 2). Construction of buildings on the site will be subject to review by the Village Architectural Review Board (ARB) to ensure consistency with the Village Historic District. The project is located on the southwest corner of Meadowmere Lane and Cooper's Neck Lane in the Village of Southampton, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Babylon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Copiague Vision Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the preparation of a Vision Plan to provide a guide for the redevelopment of the downtown Copiague area. The visioning process identifies the strategies and recommendations to implement the long term goals for the Hamlet of Copiague. A copy of the Vision Plan is available on the Town of Babylon web site at: www.townofbabylon.com. The project is located throughout the Hamlet of Copiague, Town of Babylon, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Special Permit of the Village of Jamesport. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on October 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Riverhead Town Hall, Meeting Room, 200 Howell Avenue, Riverhead, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person listed below until November 2, 2009. Copies of the DEIS are available at the offices of the Riverhead Town Planning Department, the Town Clerk and Supervisor's Office, Town Hall, 200 Howell Ave., Riverhead, NY 11901, the Riverhead Free Library, 330 Court St., Riverhead and it is posted on the Town's website: riverheadli.com (under Hot Links).

The action involves a proposal by the applicant to construct a commercial facility of ten buildings with an aggregate footprint of 42,000 square feet to include a professional office and bistro uses necessitating special permission on a 9.712 acre parcel zoned Rural Corridor (RLC). The project is located on the north side Main Road (SR25), approximately 600 feet west of Manor Lane in the Jamesport Hamlet, Riverhead Township, New York.
