The applicant proposes to abandon an existing septic system and construct a new septic system for a single family dwelling within the adjacent area of a NYS regulated Freshwater Wetland (#S-5). The new septic system and related concrete retaining wall are proposed to be located within eight feet and one foot of the freshwater wetland, respectively. The proposed septic system is also located within 90 feet of tidal wetlands (Great South Bay), and variance from the 100 foot minimum setback for septic systems has been requested.
