The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Kings County (Brooklyn) - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed South Pier Improvement Project (SPIP). The action consists of two components; the installation of one General Electric LMS 100 combustion turbine/electric generator at the existing Gowanus Generating Station, and an emissions reduction strategy for the new turbine and for the existing electric generating equipment at that facility. The project is located on the South Pier of the Gowanus Generating Station, with the entrance on 29th Street and 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
