Project Description:

Project involves armoring of 300 linear feet of stream channel to stop erosion and causing further bank failure. An 8' stream bank bench of approximately 280 feet will be constructed from stone on the east side of the stream and will include a stone wing deflector at the upstream end to divert flows away from the embankment. Extra heavy stone will be stacked to further protect the exposed embankment. Downed trees will be incorporated into the bench in order to create fisheries habitat. The bench will be approximately 3-4 feet in height to match elevations of the western bank.

Project Description:

The project sponsor, Atlantic Wind, LLC, proposes construction and operation of a maximum capacity 74 megawatt (MW) wind power project consisting of up to 37 Gamesa G90 wind turbines with a nameplate capacity of 2.0 MW and total height of 476 feet over a project area of 6,550 acres. In addition to the wind turbines, the project will involve construction of two 77-meter meteorological towers, along with an operations and maintenance (O&M) building, a system of gravel access roads, buried and aboveground electrical interconnect, and an interconnection facility (collection substation and interconnection station) to be built adjacent to an existing 115 kV transmission line. The applicant's intention is to construct the project in one continuous phase over the course of 2010.

The project involves a request for a DEC Permit for the following disturbances: 1) overhead interconnect span with wooden construction mats involving a temporary 20 linear foot disturbance to an unnamed tributary to Beaver Creek AA[ts]; 2) overhead interconnect span with wooden construction mats involving a temporary 20 linear foot disturbance to Beaver Creek AA[ts]; 3) access road construction involving 425 square feet of temporary disturbance and 523 square feet of permanent disturbance to Wetland HR-5; 4) substation and access road construction involving a temporary disturbance of 1.23 acres and permanent disturbance of 1.51 acres to the 100 foot adjacent area of HR-5; and 5) access road construction involving 0.23 acre of temporary disturbance and 0.49 acre of permanent disturbance to the 100 foot adjacent area of wetland HR-3.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a gravel access road, 150' long x 8' wide into a woodlot located in regulated freshwater wetland T-4, a 272.2 acre Class II wetland. The project site is predominately deciduous wooded wetland. The site is located South of Hyde Lake Road near the outlet of Hyde Lake, and approximately 1.75 road miles from NYS Route 37.
