Notice of Public Meeting on Biodiversity and Deer Population at Letchworth State Park
Livingston and Wyoming Counties - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP) Genesee Region will be holding a public meeting to discuss the impact of the deer population on the biodiversity of Letchworth State Park. Representatives from New York State Parks will be on hand to provide an overview of the situation and options being considered. The public will have an opportunity to provide input into this issue. The meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2 at the Castile Baptist Church, 5824 Portageville Road (Route 19-A), Castile, New York 14427.

Genesee County - The Town of Oakfield, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Oakfield Water District No. 2 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the extension of public water, approximately 11,400 linear feet of watermain will be installed. In addition to the watermain, the project includes hydrants, valves, road crossings, manholes, excavation and bedding materials, watermain connections, residential hook-ups, and surface restoration. Residents and a commercial farming enterprise (Lamb Farms) in this area are dependent upon individual groundwater supplies that historically have produced very low yields of poor quality water. The project is located along portions of North Pearl Road, Maltby Road, Lewiston Road and Albion Road in the Town of Oakfield, New York.

Livingston County - The Town of Avon, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Avon Route 39 Water District Extension will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves improvements to include the installation of approximately 16,150 linear feet of watermain. In addition to watermain installation, activities include installation of fire hydrants, valves, manholes, road crossings, excavation and bedding materials, watermain connections, residential hook-ups, and surface restoration. Residents and businesses in the project area are dependent upon individual groundwater supplies that historically have produced very low yields of poor quality water. The project is located along portions of Avon-Geneseo Road (NYS Route 39) and Hogmire Road in the Town of Avon, New York.
