Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a pedestrian nature trail and habitat improvements within portions of State-designated Freshwater Wetland, BR-10, its 100 foot adjacent area, and the Class B protected stream, Buckland Creek. The site is located on Elmwood Ave. across from Highland Park and Lilac Drive. The new nature trail will connect to the Highland Park/Canalway Trail System multi-use trail on the western property border and to the St. John's Community walking trail system on the eastern and southern borders of the parcel.

The new trail system components located within the regulated area include the following:

1) approximately 810 lineal feet of 8 foot wide stone dust pedestrian/handicapped trail in the wetland adjacent area.

2) approximately 500 lineal feet of 10 foot wide elevated boardwalk that will cross the wetland and Buckland Creek, at the northern and southern portions of the parcel.
Each stream crossing will have an attached elevated viewing platform.

3) the construction of a vernal pond in the wetland adjacent area to serve as an amphibian pool.

4) The work will be performed in conjunction with the development of the adjacent parcel known as Brickstone, a St. John's Community, formerly permitted as Park Place at Brighton, DEC # 8-2620-00131/00001. This work will involve an incidental, temporary disturbance in the wetland adjacent area for the construction of a stormwater pond. A second amphibian pool will be located within the upland area to mitigate this disturbance.

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a new permit for a proposed discharge of up to 750 gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater into Lake Ontario, a Class A water body, from a Jet aerobic treatment unit, followed by a leach line (to maximize soil infiltration), at the applicant's residence located at 56 Lakeside Boulevard in the Town of Parma. Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a modification to the existing SPDES permit held by the Village of Rushville which authorizes discharge of treated sanitary effluent to the West River across from the plant just south of Warehouse Street in the Village. The permit modification includes an increase in the flow limit from 0.6 million gallons per day (mgd) to 0.79 mgd which is required because of additional flows from the Marcus Whitman School. An upgrade to the plant was required to accommodate the increased flow. The Village installed an equalization tank, aerobic aerator tanks and additional aeration to treat the increased effluent flow. The permit also includes minor updates. As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on this application. The file is available for review and comment at the NYSDEC Region 8 Avon Office.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to replace an existing subsurface, residential septic system within the 100-foot adjacent area of state-designated Freshwater Wetland NE-6 (Class I). The project site is located on the east side of NYS Route 88N, about 0.3 mile south of the intersection with Maple Ridge Road. As proposed, the system will consist of new septic tank, pump station, and leach field. The leach field will require the placement of about 800 square feet of fill within an existing lawn area to accomodate a raised-bed system consisting of Eljen In-Drain units and a daily average design flow of about 660 gallons per day.

The project area is generally located from Eddy Ridge Road south to the Town of Williamson town park. Drainage improvements will include the selective removal of accumulated woody debris, replacement of undersized pedestrian bridges, selective removal of trees growing within ditch lines, and the excavation of a new channel extension along the northern boundary of the town park about 800 feet west to an unnamed tributary of Salmon Creek.
