Project Description:

The currently permitted mining operation, which involves onsite screening, is located on the west side of Bare Hill Road, one mile north of Cady Road and Bare Hill Road intersection, on lands owned by Scott Robinson. The applicant requests a modification to the permit to allow use of a small portable crusher. As proposed, the crusher will be located in the pit below grade, with crushing to take place on a limited basis for short periods of time each year.

Project Description:

The Town of Horicon has entered into an agreement with a landowner to remove sand and gravel in exchange for that material. The removal of the material over a +/- 2.0-acre Life of Mine will allow for the landowner to develop the property in the near future, and benefit the Town by providing free construction material. The entire mining operation is expected to be completed in one year or less. The sand and gravel will be removed by front loader and screened with a portable screener. A crusher will be used for approximately one week. The site is located west of the intersection of Market Street and New Street at Mill Pond.
