Notice Of Extension Of Public Comment Period On Draft Permit
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has extended the public comment period for the complete application/draft permit for the Port Jefferson Power Station (DEC # 1-4722-00107/00013) for an additional 47 days starting on August 21, 2009 and ending on October 7, 2009.
The Notice of Complete Application to renew and modify the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit was published in the July 22, 2009 Environmental Notice Bulletin. All comments must be provided in writing, must be postmarked no later than October 7, 2009, and must be sent to the following address:

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Suffolk County - The Village of East Hampton Zoning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed East Hampton Library, Inc. - Special Permits and Possible Variances. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on September 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emergency Services Building, 1 Cedar Street, East Hampton, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until September 21, 2009. A hard copy of the DEIS is available at the East Hampton Village Hall and the East Hampton Library and is available on the website: www.easthamptonlibrary.org.
The action involves the issuance of a Special Permit and possible area variances as may be required to allow for the construction of an addition to the existing library and a request for an interpretation that no variances are necessary. The proposal, as amended, is to construct an addition of approximately 6,800 square feet of floor area on two levels, one of which is to be below grade, to accomodate an expanded children's room, a lecture room, associated mechanical and storage areas, bathrooms, corridors, etc. with no additional on-site parking spaces proposed. The project is located at 159 Main Street in East Hampton, New York.
