The applicant proposes to install a replacement bridge (two 40 ft. long steel beams, 8 ft. wide with wood decking), in State Regulated Freshwater Wetland WA-5 (Class 2), spanning a 26 ft. wide section of Black Creek (Class/Standard C/C). The project site is located at the facility address listed above, which is approximately 2,900 ft. south of Hamilton Road.

Project Description:

The Department has prepared a draft permit modification (NY0078018) that would reduce the design flow of the proposed septic tank/sand filter waste water treatment system from 5500 gpd to 4000 gpd. The previously proposed system (5500gpd) was never installed. The proposed system will serve the central restroom/shower facility at the campground and will discharge to Dutch Hollow Creek which has a Classification of B and a Standard of B. The campground is located on Route 83 between Miller and Center Roads.

Project Description:

The Department has drafted a SPDES permit and made a tentative determination to reissue this permit for the discharge of treated wastewater to groundwater from 910 campsites. The permit would authorize the discharge of up to 20,600 gallons per day (gpd) at outfall 001 and up to 35,000 gpd at outfall 002 of sanitary wastewater after treatment by septic tank/absorption field systems. The nearest surface water is a tributary of Murder Creek approximately 200 feet away.
