Project Description:

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as the applicant, in conjunction with NYSDEC, the landowner, proposes to undertake a habitat restoration project on Genegantslet Creek. The applicant, in cooperation with the NYSDEC propose to establish a single stable stream channel in a creek located on NYSDEC State Forest south of Creek Road in the Town of McDonough and to improve adult trout habitat within this reach. Log vanes and habitat enhancement structures constructed with logs and other material will be constructed at sites determined appropriate in the field. An estimated 12 structures, including one channel blocker, are to be constructed. Final determinations with regard to exact locations will be made in the field.
