ENB - Region 9 Notices 7/22/2009
Erie County - Erie County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Aurora Street Pump Station Elimination Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal by the Erie County Department of Sewerage Management to decommission the Aurora North Pumping Station and construct approximately 2.75 miles of new gravity sanitary sewer to terminate into existing manhole No. BAA5B along the existing Erie County Sewer District No. 4 trunk line located along Borden Road in the Town of Cheektowaga. To facilitate the construction of the new sanitary sewer line, Erie County will be required to acquire approximately 2.75 miles of new right-of-way along the sewer line's alignment. The proposed project will provide capacity for the existing population while anticipating growth of approximately 475 people in the service area. The proposed sewer will also eliminate one connection to the Depew Pumping Station, which will save in pumping costs and efficiency. The project is located in the Towns of Lancaster and Cheektowaga, New York.
