Notice of Document Availability and Public Meeting with Comment Period

Project Title: Bronx River Waterbody/Watershed Facility Plan Report, July 2009

Brief Description: Under a 2005 Consent Order with the NYS DEC, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) has prepared a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Waterbody/Watershed Facility Plan (WWFP) for the Bronx River which flows into the East River. The WWFP outlines the work that has been done to-date and future plans for improving water quality in the Bronx River, including installation of floatables control facilities on several combined sewer outfalls into the Bronx River. The WWFP is the first step in the process of meeting water quality standards. The Long Term Control Plan (LTCP), prepared in accordance with the USEPA CSO Policy, will be developed by the NYC DEP upon approval of the WWFP by NYS DEC.
