Request for Proposals

Transfer, Haul and Disposal of Solid Wastes from the Town of Oyster Bay Solid Waste Disposal District - Contract No. DPW09-999

Please Take Notice, That pursuant to, and in accordance with, Section 120-(w)(4)(e)(2)(ii) of the New York State General Municipal Law, the Town of Oyster Bay has issued a Final Request for Proposals (RFP) with respect to the above specified Contract. Included in this RFP are comments filed in relation to the previously released Draft Request for Proposals and the Town's findings related to the substantive elements of such comments. Proposals are to be submitted to the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works, 150 Miller Place, Syosset, New York 11791 no later than Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.

The RFP is on file, and may be obtained daily (except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays) on or after Monday, July 6, 2009, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., at the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works, 150 Miller Place, Syosset, New York 11791, by any interested persons. There is no fee associated with obtaining this document.

A copy of the RFP is also on file, and may be viewed daily (except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., at the Office of the Town Clerk, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, New York 11771. An additional copy of the RFP is on file at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, 999 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY 11803.

A Group Site Visit for proposers is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Old Bethpage Solid Waste Disposal Complex.

Notice of Contract Award Pursuant to New York State General Municipal Law Section 120-W

On June 23, 2009, the Town of North Hempstead Solid Waste Management Authority awarded a contract to TransRiver Marketing Company, L.P. pursuant to section one hundred twenty-w (120-w) of the General Municipal Law for the transportation and disposal of solid waste generated within the Town of North Hempstead. The validity of this contract or the procedures which led to its award may be hereafter contested only by action, suit or proceeding commenced within sixty (60) days after the date of this notice and only upon the ground or grounds that: (1) such award or procedure was not authorized pursuant to that section, or (2) any of the provisions of that section which should be complied with at the date of this publication have not been substantially complied with, or (3) a conflict of interest can be shown in the manner in which the contract was awarded; or by action, suit or proceeding commenced on the grounds that such contract was awarded in violation of the provisions of the Constitution.

On June 23, 2009, the Town of North Hempstead Solid Waste Management Authority awarded a contract to Omni Recycling of Westbury, Inc. pursuant to section one hundred twenty-w (120-w) of the General Municipal Law for the operation and maintenance of the Town of North Hempstead's transfer station and the transportation and disposal of construction and demolition debris, yard waste and recyclables generated within the Town of North Hempstead. The validity of this contract or the procedures which led to its award may be hereafter contested only by action, suit or proceeding commenced within sixty (60) days after the date of this notice and only upon the ground or grounds that: (1) such award or procedure was not authorized pursuant to that section, or (2) any of the provisions of that section which should be complied with at the date of this publication have not been substantially complied with, or (3) a conflict of interest can be shown in the manner in which the contract was awarded; or by action, suit or proceeding commenced on the grounds that such contract was awarded in violation of the provisions of the Constitution.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Incorporated Village of Old Westbury Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed F & D Homes Residential Subdivision. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 3, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at the Incorporated Village of Old Westbury, 1 Store Hill Road, Old Westbury, NY 11568. The DEIS is available at: www.fpclark.com. The action involves the subdivision of an 11.34 acre property into four residential building lots. The proposed subdivision would create four residential lots, containing the existing single-family dwelling and accessory structures, and an additional three single-family dwellings would be constructed. The property is located directly adjacent to Old Westbury Gardens, which is an historic landmark on National Register. The project is located at 96 Store Hill Road along the southerly side of Store Hill Road, in the Incorporated Village of Old Westbury, New York.
