Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (NY 016 0521), pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18, New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS).

The LC Ranous No. 1 facility is a brine disposal facility for fluids associated with oil and gas production. No treatment occurs prior to injection into the well. The facility has discharge to saline groundwaters, Class GSA, with a maximum flow rate of 790 gpm. The following changes to the permit are proposed: Monitoring for oil and grease has been added to the permit. Permittee name and address has been updated. Discharge monitoring report mailing address has been added. The monitoring locations page has been updated. Additional requirements, item III has been updated to require sampling if the brine sources change significantly from cornet production, and monitoring required for the stated residential wells has been placed under item X and bolded for emphasis.

Project Description:

The Gillette Pond Owners Association proposes to dredge approximately 3500 cubic yards of accumulated sediment from Gillette Pond. The material will be placed on the adjacent homeowner's property. Due to elevated arsenic levels the NYSDEC and Monroe County Department of Health have recommended the dredged material be covered with clean topsoil, seeded and mulched. The Department previously authorized the removal of 1500 cubic yards of sediment but the applicant has requested an increase to the currently proposed amount of 3500 cubic yards.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a new boat ramp, a dock space, canoe drying racks, and a dry hydrant within State-designated Freshwater Wetland SP-3 (Class I). The project site is located on the east side of County Route 36 approximately 3/4 mile south of Honeoye Lake. As proposed approximately 0.04 acre of the wetland would be impacted by the proposed structures. The proposed concrete boat ramp would measure 10 feet wide by 24 feet long. The docks will consist of five post-supported platforms, each 4 feet wide by 10 feet long. In addition, four fish net anchor posts will be installed in the wetland for scientific use.
