Project Description:

The Village of Broadalbin proposes to install a second water well at its North Second Avenue Well Field, taking up to 300 gallons per minute. The purpose is to provide a second water source capable of supplying adequate capacity for the Village and a proposed water extension in the Town of Broadalbin. Work includes an addition to the existing well house to accommodate the chlorine feed equipment and flow meter. The well site is located on the west side of North Second Avenue Extension, directly west of the Broadalbin Village line, in the Town of Mayfield.

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

Clifton Park Water Authority (CPWA) proposes to connect to the Saratoga County Water Authority (SCWA) for the purchase of finished water, to gain another source of supply to meet future system demands and increase service reliability. The proposed connection and metering/chlorination station is located near Magnolia Way and the Zim Smith Trail in Malta, at the opposite (north) end of the CPWA system from the current main source of supply. For redundancy, a second future connection to the SCWA system would be built near the Zim Smith Trail and East Line Road. The project includes installation of water mains along Long Kill, East Line and Raylinsky Roads, and the taking of up to 500,000 gallons per day. CPWA also proposes to operate and serve the existing Shenendehowa Central School District main campus water system.

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) and renewal to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (NY 000 7161), pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18, New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS). The Cottrell Paper Rock City Falls Plant handles process wastewater from the paper mill. The treatment at the plant consists of wastewater passing through screening, flocculation tank and then settling tank where sludge is taken to a belt filter press then to the landfill. The plant has treated surface water discharge into the Kayaderosseras Creek, a class C(T) water. The following changes to the permit are proposed: Daily Maximum monitoring for Total Dissolved Solids has been added. Whole Effluent Toxicity testing has been added. Reporting for both Mass and Concentration has been added. A schedule of compliance has been added for parameters. Water Treatment Chemical requirements have been added. Note 1 and special monitoring requirements shall be removed. The permittee conducted temperature monitoring program and the results have been assessed and are acceptable. Note 2 shall be removed because it has been addressed under special conditions subsection water treatment chemical requirements.
