Project Description:

As part of an ongoing remedial action on the McInerney Farm site, Unisys proposes to excavate, and properly dispose of, approximately 11,800 cubic yards of soil above NYSDEC established cleanup criteria. The proposed Remedial Action was approved by NYSDEC on August 11, 2008. All excavated areas will be backfilled with clean soil. Approximately 185 feet of creek bank will be stabilized with stone rip rap and the remaining disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched. Approximately 13 cubic yards of this material will be excavated from below the mean high water level of Seeley Creek. The excavation of the Seeley Creek embankment will take place during the later summer/early fall season when Seeley Creek is periodically dry. If necessary, the work area below the mean high water level will be de-watered prior to the commencement of excavation.

The Department has received an application for the installation of approximately 5,400 linear feet of 10 inch watermain on Brewer Road in the Town of Waterloo as part of the Town of Waterloo Town Wide Water District. A portion of the watermain is proposed to be installed in the regulated 100 foot adjacent area of NYS regulated freshwater wetland GN-25 via directional drilling. Standard sediment and erosion controls will be employed to maintain the water quality of the wetland.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.

The Department has received a wastewater discharge permit application for the above-referenced facility located on County Route 76 in the Town of Urbana, Steuben County. The applicant proposes a subsurface discharge of up to 2500 gallons per day of sanitary and process wastewater from a proposed onsite wastewater treatment system to groundwater. The proposed project involves replacement of a failing septic system with a new onsite wastewater treatment system which will include aerobic treatment units for the sanitary wastewater and anaerobic treatment for the process wastewater.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. A draft permit is available for review at the Department's Region 8 Avon office.

The Department has received an application for the installation of approximately 2900 linear feet of 18 inch sanitary sewer main along Canandaigua Road in the Town of Walworth to connect the Gananda Senior Living project to the municipal sewer system. A portion of the sanitary sewer main will be installed in the regulated 100 foot adjacent area of NYS freshwater wetland ON-47 via open trench methods. At the wetland crossing, the sanitary sewer main will be in a 30 inch steel casing pipe. Standard sediment and erosion controls will be utilized to maintain the water quality of the wetland.
