The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Negative Declaration

Schenectady County - The City of Schenectady City Council, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Bureau of Services Facility Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new Bureau of Services facility which includes demolition of two existing residences on the southeast corner of the site, as well as the construction of a 58,000 square foot heated vehicle storage building and a 28,000 square foot administrative office/maintenance building. On the southwest corner of the site, the redevelopment of the existing Bureau of Services site to consist of the demolition of all existing buildings on the site, as well as the construction of a 8,700 square foot salt shed, a 43,000 square foot covered unheated vehicle storage structure with two wash bays, a fueling station and canopy. The project is located at Foster Avenue and Seneca Street in the City of Schenectady, New York

Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Hearing

Rensselaer County - The Town of East Greenbush, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Western East Greenbush Draft GEIS. A public hearing on the Draft GEIS will be held on May 13, 2009 at 6:15 p.m. at the Town of East Greenbush Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, NY. Written comments on the Draft GEIS will be accepted until May 25, 2009. A hard copy of the DGEIS is available at the following locations: Town of East Greenbush, Town Hall, 225 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, NY. The online version of the DGEIS is available at the following publically accessible web site: http://www.eastgreenbush.org/. The action involves identifying, analyzing, and mitigating the cumulative effects of development in the western section of the Town of East Greenbush as such effects relate to the Town's land use management, natural resources, recreation resources, transportation system, water service, wastewater service, and stormwater management. The project is located in the Town of East Greenbush, New York.
