Project Description:

The applicant proposes to conduct an application of the aquatic herbicide triclopyr, trade name Renovate OTF, to Cazenovia Lake in order to control the nuisance plant Eurasian Watermilfoil. The application is intended during one week between May 1 and July 3, 2009 over an area of 234 acres of Cazenovia Lake, including portions of the class 1 State-protected wetland OR-3, which extends into the lake's northern waters. A second herbicide application is intended for the year 2010, over an area of 174 lake acres. The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:


The Town of Richland proposes to serve up to 372,800 gallons per day of potable water from the Felix-Schoeller well site to the new Water District #2. Installation of approximately 28 miles of new ductile iron water main, two control valve stations and a new 300,000 gallon water storage tank are included. Most wetland and stream crossings for the water main installation will be done by directional bore. The application and project plans are available for review in the Syracuse Office.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:
