Project Description:

The applicant proposes the installation of an aluminum fish ladder within the western spillway of Massapequa Lake. The fish ladder will be approximately 25.5' X 2'. The fish ladder will be designed to allow fish to move from the Massapequa tidal channel into the freshwater of Massapequa Lake in order to promote the annual spawing of anadromous fish species. The NYSDEC Bureau of Flood protection and Dam Safety has determined that installation of this fish ladder does not require a dam safety permit.
