Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Adoption of Local Law to Reduce the use of Fertilizer near Surface Waters in Suffolk County will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Fertilizer shall not be applied to any County owned property, nor to any turf on any non-County owned real property, within twenty (20) feet of any regulated surface water, except, that this restriction shall not apply where a continuous natural vegetative buffer, at least ten (10) feet wide, separates a turf area and regulated surface water. The project is located county wide in Suffolk County, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Islip Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Heartland Town Square may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the redevelopment of approximately 450 acres of land on a portion of the former Pilgrim State Psychiatric Center Property. The project sponsor proposes a unique mixed-use development of approximately 9,130 residential units, 105,000 square feet of civic space, 1,030,000 square feet of retail space and 4,150,000 square feet of office space to be built over a 15 year period in three distinct phases. The project is located on the east and west sides of Sagtikos State Parkway, and in the "Islip Gateway Community Improvement Area" along Crooked Hill Road, south of Long Island Expressway in the Hamlet of Brentwood, Town of Islip, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Riverside Urban Renewal Plan. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until May 14, 2009. The action involves the adoption of an Urban Renewal Plan to prepare for site-specific redevelopment to improve housing stock and commercial service activity, primarily to serve existing neighborhood residents. The project is located on 93 acres fronting on south side of NYS Route 24 to the intersection of Riverleigh Avenue and Old Quogue Road, and including properties fronting on the east side of Old Quogue Road to Brown Street and Ludlam Avenue Park and the properties fronting on the west side of Riverleigh Avenue from the traffic circle south to the church and McLeod Mobile Home Park on Riverleigh Road in Riverside, Town of Southampton, New York.
