The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) §27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor (named above) has submitted a BCP application asking that this site be admitted into the BCP.

NYS DEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

NYS DEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Negative Declaration

Onondaga County - The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed F. W. Webb Company Distribution Warehouse will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the acquisition of land and construction of a wholesale distribution center, and installation of machinery and equipment. The project also involves the granting of certain financial assistance in the form of exemptions from real property tax, real estate transfer tax, mortgage recording tax, and sales tax. The project is located at 6784 Townline Road in the Town of Dewitt, New York.

Onondaga County - The City of Syracuse Planning Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Project Plan Review - St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action consists of 361,000 square feet of new construction in order to expand the hospital. These improvements will take place in two major phases over the next four years (2013 completion date), overall, nine levels of new construction will be undertaken. The project is located at 703-749 North Townsend Street, 701 North Townsend Street, 305 East Laurel Street, 306-308 East Laurel Street, 301 Prospect Avenue, 320 and 322 Prospect Avenue and 400, 402, 404 and 406 Prospect Avenue in the City of Syracuse, New York.

Onondaga County - The City of Syracuse Planning Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Project Plan Review - Syracuse University will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a multi-use facility consisting of a 54,400 square foot bookstore, a 47,700 square foot fitness center and 7,890 square foot of retail space. The project is located at 601 University Avenue in the City of Syracuse, New York.
