Project Description:

Issuance of this permit will authorize the existing water district known as Town of Herkimer Water District No. 2. The district encompasses Gros Boulevard, The BOCES complex and the water storage tank off Pine Grove Road. The source of water will be purchased from the existing Village of Herkimer Water Supply System. The village system consist of the Gravesville Reservoir on Mill Creek plus a well field.The applicant is requesting a taking of 6,000 gallons per day.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Project Description:

The proposed project includes dredging around a floating dock in a New York State Regulated Wetland (M-16) and dredging of a channel from the dock to the center of the lake. The dredging will be 20' long by 12' wide by 4' deep surrounding the floating dock and 6' wide by 4' deep for an additional 60' out into the lake. Dredge spoils will be placed upland on the same parcel, graded and kept from re-entering the waterbody. A silt curtain will be employed in the water to prevent turbidity.
