Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Special Permit of Beacon Wireless Management, LLC and New York SMSA, LP (Verizon Wireless), Wading River (Little Flower) may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the proposal by the applicant to construct a 150 foot agl monpole with 12 wireless communications antenna panels and related equipment within a 4,200 square foot leased area of a 98.5 acre parcel zoned Residence B-80 and improved with a children and family services facility. The project is located on the northeast corner of North Wading River Road and North Side Road in Wading Hamlet, Riverhead Township, New York.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed The Hills at Southampton may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on February 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall. The action involves an application which consists of an 82 lot subdivision on 429.72 acres of land in a 5 acre zoning district, for single family lots ranging from 41,810 feet in size to 77,096 feet. The lots are arranged in a cluster subdivision in the southern and central portions of the property to allow for the preservation of 263.5 ± acres. The main site access is proposed from the eastside of Lewis Road (296 ±) feet north of Old Country Road with emergency access proposed in the northern central portion of development off Spinney Road. A future roadway connection to the properties to the east is also proposed in the southern portion of the development. The project is located on multiple parcels totaling 429.72 acres situated in the CR-200 Zoning District, partially within the New York State Central Pine Barrens Core Preservation Area and partially within the New York State Central Pine Barrens compatible growth area, located to the north of Lewis Road (approximately 300 feet west of the intersection with Old Country Road) with a portion located to the north of NYS Route 27 (Sunrise Highway) in the unincorporated Hamlet of East Quogue, New York.
