Erie County - The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed University at Buffalo Comprehensive Physical Plan may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The Draft Scope of Work for the Draft GEIS will be available on or by January 16th, 2009. Copies of the Draft Scope of Work will be made available at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library (Main Branch, Williamsville Branch and Audubon Branch), University at Buffalo's Undergraduate Library (UGL) in Capen Hall at the North Campus, Allen Hall and Health Science Library (HSL) on the South Campus, the Gloria Parks Community Center and on-line at: www.buffalo.edu/aboutub/leadership. A public scoping session will be held on January 22, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for Tomorrow, University at Buffalo North Campus.
The action involves the development of a Comprehensive Physical Plan which will guide the growth and development of the University at Buffalo in support of its plan for academic excellence. The Preliminary Plan concepts would expand and enhance UB facilities at its three campuses, providing approximately six and a half (6.5) to seven (7) million additional gross square feet of building space to accommodate the projected addition of 10,000 students, 1,000 faculty, and 2,750 staff by the year 2030. The project is located on the three University at Buffalo Campuses as follows:
Amherst, NY 14260
3435 Main Street
Buffalo, NY 14214
Buffalo, NY 14203
