Public Notice

Madison County has issued a Draft Request For Proposals (RFP) dated January 7, 2009 to request comments from companies that are interested in developing a facility in the County's Agriculture and Renewable Energy (ARE) Park that could utilize up to 438,000 therms per year of excess heat generated by a landfill gas to energy facility located in the Town of Lincoln at the county's landfill site on Buyea Road. Interested companies should request a copy of the Draft RFP from Kipp Hicks, Director, Madison County IDA, 3215 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota, NY 13032, Phone: (315) 697-9817, Fax: (315) 697-8169, E-mail: director@madisoncountyida.com. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on two different dates: February 24, 2009 and February 26, 2009 (pick one to attend and call the contact person listed below for more details). Comments on this Draft RFP must be submitted in writing by 3:00 p.m. on March 9, 2009, to the contact person listed below. A Final RFP is expected to be issued on April 3, 2009. Written proposals submitted in response to that Final RFP are expected to be required from interested companies by May 15, 2009. These dates may be changed in the Final RFP. A separate public notice will be issued for the Final RFP prior to its issuance.

Negative Declaration

Cayuga County - The Village of Weedsport, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Weedsport Sanitary System Rehabilitation and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation which consists of the trenchless lining of approximately 1,650 feet of collector sewer on North Seneca Street (NYS Route 34); open cut repairs of broken collector sewers on Green Street, Horton Street, Franklin Street and Earl Street; and raising of two (2) manhole covers on Oakland Street and Erie Drive (NYS Route 31). The Village of Weedsport Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements involve upgrades to the Plant, including the conversion of two (2) existing treatment tanks to sequencing batch reactors, construction of a new sequencing batch reactor, replacement of plant raw sewage pumps, construction of new rectangular cast-in-place concrete chlorine contact and sludge digester tanks, construction of a new equipment building to house aeration and sludge dewatering equipment, and miscellaneous renovations in the existing control building. The project is located on North Seneca Street, Green Street, Horton Street, Franklin Street, Earl Street and 29 Earl Street in the Village of Weedsport, New York.
