Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Extension of Public Comment Period

Chautauqua County - The Town Board of the Town of Villanova, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Noble Ball Hill Windpark. The comment period has been extended and written comments on the Draft EIS have will be accepted until 5:00 p.m on January 26, 2009. Copies of the Draft EIS are available from the following:

The action involves the proposal by the applicant, Noble Ball Hill Windpark, for the construction, operation and maintenance of approximately 60 wind turbines of 1.5 MW each (49 turbines will be located in the Town of Villenova and 11 turbines in the Town of Hanover), along with associated access roads, electrical collection and transmission lines and an electrical substation. The project is located in portions of the Towns of Villenova and Hanover, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Supplemental Draft EIS and Public Comment Period

Erie County - The Town Board of the Town of Grand Island, as lead agency, has accepted a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Country Club Estates. Written comments on the Supplemental Draft EIS will be accepted until January 20, 2009. The Supplemental Draft EIS is available from the Town of Grand Island Town Clerk, 2255 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14972, Phone: (716) 773-9600 ext. 600 or the Erie County Library, 1715 Bedell Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. It is also available on the website: www.grand-island.ny.us. The action involves a clustered residential subdivision to be constructed on approximately 28.5 acres of property that is properly zoned for the proposed use. The proposed clustered residential subdivision will consist of 67 detached single family homes on individual lots. The property includes the construction of detached single family homes as well as grading, installation of roadways and driveways; installation of sanitary sewer and water lines; utiltity improvements and the installation of a stormwater management system. The project is located at Fix Road and Baseline Road in the Town of Grand Island, New York.
