Project Description:

The Department has received an application for the discharge of 220 gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater from a septic tank and leach field system with an overflow to the Town of Brighton storm sewer which eventually discharges to the Genesee River, a class B waterbody. The applicant proposes to install a collector pipe to capture the overflow to repair an existing septic system which discharges to groundwater at a property located on Riverside Drive in the Town of Brighton.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. A draft permit is available for review at the Department's Region 8 office in Avon.

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to renew State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) # NY 016 1888, for D'Ambrosio Property in Monroe County. This is a pre-existing Private/Commercial/Institutional SPDES permit. DEC has made a tentative determination to renew this permit and set a standard five year term maintaining current effluent limitations. Monitoring and reporting requirements have been updated. Discharge Notification Requirements have been added. This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 450 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste into the Irondeqoit Creek tributary, a class C water. DEC seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to operate a seaonal snowmobile trail network within various State-designated Freshwater Wetlands and their 100-foot adjacent areas within western Monroe County. Trail maintenance activities include staking trail signposts and markers, the maintenance of existing stream and wetland crossing structures, trail grooming, and the cutting and removal of fallen trees. Wetland and adjacent area crossings involve the following State-designated wetlands: HM-6, HM-4, HM-5, CK-20, SW-3, SW-7, OG-14, OG-21, GT-4, RG-12, RG-13, RG-14, RG-31, RG-8, RG-33, WH-2, CH-26. A new section of trail is also proposed within State-designated Freshwater Wetland OG-6 (Class II) located in the Town of Ogden north of Whittier Road. The proposed trail segment will cross approximately 1,900 feet of the wetland and require the selective removal of trees to create a 14 foot clear pathway for two way snowmobile traffic. Operation of the trail is limited to snowmobiles and is open only with at least 6 inches of snow cover and frozen conditions in wetlands.
