Project Description:

The Department has tentatively determined to issue a renewed Freshwater Wetland and Aquatic Pesticide permit to the Tomohawk Lake Association for the continuation of activities to control a water chestnut infestation. The applicant proposes to treat approximately 30 acres of Tomahawk Lake with the aquatic herbicide Navigate (active ingredient 2,4-D). Treatment area includes approximately 9 acres at the southern end of the lake that is part of NYS Freshwater Wetland MB-49 (Class I). The permit will restrict application times to no earlier in the season than 01 May and no later than 01 September.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Project Description:

This proposal involves a 3 lot subdivision of 58 acres including the construction of two single family homes and the designation of a conservation easement on the third lot (46.8 acres). One of the two 12 foot wide driveways will cross a portion of NYS Freshwater Wetland P-9 (Class 1); both driveways will cross portions of the 100 foot adjacent area. The total area of disturbance to the wetland is less than 500 sq. ft.; the total area of disturbance to the adjacent area is approximately .3 acre, .16 acre of which are the result of the establishment of front and rear lawns for lot 1.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to excavate an approximate 3800 square foot area and remove 230 cubic yards of sediment from an existing pond (Class C). The project will disturb less than 1/10 acre of federally regulated wetland. Dredge spoils will be disposed of on the applicant's property in an upland area. Additional improvements include construction of an outlet control structure (10' concrete weir), overflow swale, and installation of prefabricated 12' by 3' wooden footbridge. The project is located on the southern side of Bogtown Road, west of the intersection with Yerkes Road in the Town of North Salem, Westchester County.
