Project Description:
This proposal involves the installation of sheet piling along the western shore of the East Branch of the Croton River [Index # H-31-P44-24, Class A(t)] along a 140 linear foot section of stream embankment to prevent further stream bank erosion. The stream is also located within NYS Freshwater Wetland DP-22 (Class 1). The proposal also includes the installation of rock rip rap along the toe of the sheet piling to provide aquatic habitat, slow water velocity, and dissipate energy.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to remove a 30 feet by 50 feet by 2 feet gravel deposit, and use the material to restore approximately 45 linear feet of eroded streambank on East Branch Callicoon Creek (Water Index No. D-53-1-90, Class C[t]) damaged by floodwater; additionally, approximately 70 linear feet section of laid up rock wall will be repaired and approximately ten lineal feet of large rock will be placed to armor the corner of the wall.
