Project Description:
The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to renew State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) # NY 009 8833, for Cheerful Valley Campground in Ontario County. This is a pre-existing Private/Commercial/Institutional SPDES permit. DEC has made a tentative determination to renew this permit and set a standard five year term maintaining current effluent limitations. Monitoring and reporting requirements have been updated. Discharge Notification Requirements have been added. This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 16,900 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste into the Canandaigua Outlet, a class C(T) water.
DEC seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to dredge approximately 2,500 cubic yards of silt that has accumulated in a slip, which was excavated approximately 100 years ago. The accumulation of silt is impacting the plant's water intake structure and Cargill seeks to dredge the slip to previously existing depths. The dredged material will be dewatered and then disposed of at an authorized Part 360 solid waste landfill facility. Depending on the results of sediment sampling the dewatering effluent will either be discharged back into the slip or sent to a waste water treatment plant. The slip area to be dredged will be isolated from Keuka Lake by the deployment of a weighted silt curtain.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to remove section of existing concrete breakwall on the west shore of Keuka Lake and replace with a new concrete wall that includes toe protection and a section of rock rip-rap. The wall would be constructed on the south end of shoreline at or about mean high water level, and therefore will require an Article 15 permit. Concrete section of wall will be approximately 176 feet and rock rip-rap section will be approximately 30 feet. Angular stone will be placed at the base of the wall to prevent scour and provide habitat.
