Notice of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Environmental Assessment and Comment Period

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or Commission) has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) on the underground natural gas storage project proposed by Arlington Storage Company, LLC (Arlington) in the Towns of Bath, Canisteo, and Cameron in Steuben County. The proposed project, known as the Thomas Corners Storage Project, has been assigned FERC Docket Number CP08-96-000. The EA assesses the potential environmental effects of the construction and operation of Arlington's proposed underground gas storage facilities and related pipeline facilities.

The EA and related New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) permit application documents are available for review by appointment at the NYS DEC, Division of Mineral Resources' office at 625 Broadway in Albany where the contact person is Peter Briggs, Phone: (518) 402-8056 and at the NYS DEC Region 8 Division of Environmental Permits' office at 6274 East Avon-Lima Road in Avon where the contact person is Peter Lent, Phone: (585) 226-5390. The EA has also been placed in the public files of the FERC. If you wish to comment by mail on the federal EA, mail your comments so that they will be received in Washington, DC on or before December 1, 2008. Send an original and two copies of your comments to: Secretary; Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; 888 First St., N.E., Room 1A; Washington, DC 20426. Label one copy of the comments for the attention of the Gas Branch 1, PJ-11.1; Reference Docket No. CP08-96-000. The Commission strongly encourages electronic filing of any comments or interventions or protests to this proceeding. Negative Declaration

Genesee County - The Genesee County Industrial Development Agency, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Buffalo East Corporate Acquisition will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Genesee County Industrial Devlopment Agency, consistent with its stated purpose, is undertaking an acquisition of property. The action involves the acquiring of an individually owned parcel of land encompassing approximately 238 acres and the publicizing and marketing of the property for appropriate development. The project is located southwest of NYS Route 77 in the Town of Pembroke, New York.
