Negative Declaration

Livingston County - The Village of Geneseo, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Revision to the Geneseo Village Zoning Code will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the updating of the Village's zoning code to reflect the vision, goals, objectives and recommendations expressed in the Comprehensive Plan and to reflect modern standards, best practices for planning and land use, and the changing conditions in the Village. The project is located throughout the Village of Geneseo, New York.

Steuben County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) - Region 8, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Adoption of the Erwin Unit Management Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Erwin Unit Management Plan sets forth the proposed goals, objectives, management actions and associated costs for the management of 3,797 acres on three parcels of State land in Steuben County. It includes Erwin Mountain and McCarthy Hill State Forests and Erwin Wildlife Management Area. The plan details management activities for a 10 year period from 2008-2018. The Erwin Unit Management Plan was approved and signed by the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation on October 8, 2008.

This plan directs the future management of the property which will include such activities as maintenance and improvement of access to the site, managing natural vegetation, including native grasslands and woodlands, controlling exotic species, preservation of historical and archaeological resources and oil and gas leasing. The project is located in the Town of Erwin and the Town of Addison, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Hearing

Monroe County - The City of Rochester Director of Zoning, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Citygate. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on November 6, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Anne Church, 1600 Mount Hope Avenue, Rochester, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on December 1, 2008. Copies of the DGEIS are available for review at the following locations:

The action involves a proposed mixed-use project incorporating a variety of housing options, retail, office, hotels and recreational opportunities. The development will create pockets of living and office space over 1st floor retail, with a parking structure and surface parking lots throughout the site. Public amenities include open space and access to the Erie Canal and multi-use trails. The project is located on a 65 acre site at the southeast corner of the intersection of East Henrietta Road and Westfall Road. Approximately 44 acres are located within the City of Rochester and 19 acres are located in the Town of Brighton, New York.
