Project Description:

The applicant proposes to remove gravel from 1,680 feet of Launt Hollow Brook that was deposited as a result of the June 2006 flood event. The purpose of the project is to return the channel to it's pre-flood condition and alleviate flooding of adjacent agricultural fields. The project is located south of State Route 10 east of Launt Hollow Road.

Project Description:

The Department has prepared a draft permit and has made a tentative determination to issue a renewal Title V Air Facility Permit for the operation of the Hess Rensselaer Terminal facility located at 367 American Oil Road, City of Rensselaer, County of Rensselaer, owned by the Hess Corporation. The facility applied for a renewal of their Title V Air Permit.

In accordance with 6NYCRR Parts 621.7(b)(9) and 201-6.4(c), the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has the authority to bar issuance of any Title V Facility Permit if it is determined not to be in compliance with applicable requirements of the Clean Air Act or 6NYCRR Part 201.

Persons wishing to inspect the subject Title V files, including the application with all relevant supporting materials, the draft permit, and all other materials available to the DEC (the "permitting authority") that are relevant to this permitting decision should contact the DEC representative listed below. The Draft Permit and Permit Review Report may be viewed and printed from the Department web site at: http://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/32249.html.

DEC will evaluate the application and the comments received on it to determine whether to hold a public hearing. Comments and requests for a public hearing should be in writing and addressed to the Department representative listed below. Project Description:

The applicant proposes to excavate a portion of their property to create a 3.6 acre pond, requiring a mining permit for a 4.1 acre Life of Mine parcel. Excavated materials will be hauled off-site and it is anticipated that excavation/mining activities will take approximately 24 months (two working seasons) to reach final grades and complete construction of the pond. The site is located entirely within a 318 acre parcel owned by the applicant at 5539 Western Turnpike Road (US Route 20) in the Town of Duanesburg. The site is approximately 2,500 feet southerly of US Route 20, 2,400 feet northerly of N.Y.S. Route 7 and 4,900 feet westerly of the hamlet of Duanesburg.
