Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Nassau County - The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Muttontown, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Special Use Permit Application of the Jewish Congregation of Brookville. The combined public hearing on the DEIS and on the application for special use permit have been rescheduled to October 30, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall of the Incorporated Village of Muttontown, 1763 Route 106/"Raz" Tafuro Way, Muttontown, New York 11791. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until until 5:00 p.m. on November 14, 2008. The DEIS is available for public review at the office of the contact person and at the Jericho Public Library, One Merry Lane, Jericho, New York 11753, and on the Village of Muttontown's website at www.villageofmuttontown.com.
The action involves the construction of a synagogue and associated appurtenances for The Jewish Congregation of Brookville, which currently shares space with the Brookville Reformed Church (at 2 Brookville Road). The Jewish Congregation of Brookville is proposing the construction of a 22,173 square foot synagogue with approximately 247 fixed seats. In order to construct the proposed synagogue, a special use permit is required from the Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Muttontown. The site is situated within the "Residence E-3 District." The project is a 6.1 acre parcel situated on the east side of New York State Route 106, between Brookville Road and Bella Sonia Court in the Incorporated Village of Muttontown, New York..

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS
Suffolk County - The Village of Islandia, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Preserve at Islandia. The action involves the change of zone, from AG (Agriculture) zoning to (MF) Multifamily Residence for a proposed condominium complex with amenities in the Village of Islandia. The project is located on the east side of Old Nichols Road, approximately 640 feet south of Johnson Avenue, Village of Islandia, Town of Islip, Suffolk County, NY.
