The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Negative Declaration

Schoharie County - The Town of Esperance ZBA, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Independent Towers Proposed Esperance Telecommunications Facility will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of an approximately 130 to 160 foot tall self-supporting telecommunications tower on an approximately 10,000 square foot portion of an ~110 acre parcel. The project will also include the installation of a concrete foundation structure for the tower, the construction of a Verizon equipment shelter with accompanying foundation pad, installation of a seven (7) foot tall chain link fence securing the compound and the underground routing of power/telephone utility lines as necessary. The project is located at 187 Mountain Road in the Town of Esperance, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Rensselaer County - The Town of East Greenbush Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed East Greenbush Marina. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on October 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town of East Greenbush Town Hall. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until October 22, 2008. The action involves the development of a full service marina facility, designed to provide recreational access to the Hudson River for all boaters who reside within the Town of East Greenbush, and the general public. The proposed Marina site is to be constructed on an unimproved 24.95 acre site. On the east, the site has frontage along Riverside Avenue Extension, also known as American Oil Road. The Hess Oil Storage Facility, 367 American Oil Road, Rensselaer, New York, 12144, is immediately adjacent to the south side of the site. The Sprague Oil Storage Facility, Riverside Avenue, is immediately adjacent to the north side of the site. The project is located on Riverside Avenue in the Town of East Greenbush, New York.
