Project Description:

Continued operation of a temporary dewatering system to facilitate the construction and upgrade of the Avenue V Pump Station with a maximum withdrawal of 21,744,000 gallons per day. Construction will take place at the job site located 76 Avenue V in Brooklyn, NY. The pumped groundwater is to be treated with appropriately sized settling tanks and directed to a 228 inch storm sewer within the confines of the facility that discharges to the Coney Island Creek via Outfall OH-021.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYC Dept of Environmental Protection

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Oct 09, 2008.
