Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Canon Americas Headquaters (Site Plan). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on October 1, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town of Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until October 14, 2008. Copies of the Draft SEIS may be obtained from Scott Robin at the address listed below. The action involves construction in two (2) phases on a 52.17 acre (2,272,525 square foot) parcel located within an I-1 Light Industrial Zoning District & R-40 Residential Zoning District. Phase I will include construction of a 690,000 square foot, five-story, office building and two (2) parking garages. The North Parking Garage, which is closest to the south service road of the Long Island Expressway, will be three and a half stories tall and hold 760 parking spaces (239,735 square feet). The South Parking Garage will be three and a half stories tall and hold 796 parking spaces (248,490 square feet). Phase II will include construction of an addition to the North Garage (directly behind the Phase I North Parking Garage) to accommodate 1,238 spaces and an additional five (5) story 210,000 square foot office building located directly behind the North Office Building. The applicant is requesting connection to Suffolk County Sewer District No. 3 - Southwest to allow all wastewater generated by the project to be discharged to the Bergen Point Sewage Treatment Plant. Public water is to be provided by the South Huntington Water District. The project is located on the southwest corner of the Long Island Expressway South Service Road (New York State Route 495) and Walt Whitman Road in Melville in the Town of Huntington, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS
Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Greek Orthodox Church. The action involves the construction of a new church building, cultural center and the conversion of the existing church into a community center with associated parking improvements on a 3.8 acre parcel. The project is located in the R-60 Zoning District on the northwest corner of St. Andrews Road and Nicholas Court in Shinnecock Hills, Town of Southampton, New York.
