Project Description:

The applicant, in cooperation with the Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District, is proposing to stabilize approximately 335' of streambank on a Class B tributary of Lake Ontario through a variety of stabilization measures that include regrading, native plantings, live staking and fascines. The goal of the project is to examine several different bioengineering techniques in an effort to minimize sediment loss, filter pollutants and enhance habitat in the stream located within Durand Eastman Park.

Project Description:

The Town of Erwin proposes to take an additional supply of water for use in the existing distribution system by the installation of the Industrial Development Park Well No. 2 with a maximum capacity of 350 gallons per minute (GPM). The new well, to be located near ID Park Well Number 1, south of Addison Road (State Route 417), and west of US Route 15, will serve the existing industrial park, and potential future industrial users, which are within the Morningside Heights Water District (the Town of Erwin's consolidated district). The total available wellfied capacity for the town of Erwin (including the 2 industrial park wells and 3 wells in the Gangs Mills area) will be 2.016 MGD (1400 GPM). The file is available for review and comment at NYSDEC Region 8.

A cultural resources survey has been completed. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
