Project Description:
The department has made a tentative determination to approve a re-issuance of a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit to the new owner. The permit allows for the surface discharge of up to 2,000 gallons per day of sanitary wastewater after treatment by a septic tank and sand filter system. The discharge is to Two Mile Creek, a tributary of the Allegany River identified as PA 53-51 with a classification of C and a standard of C. The department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for, or endorsement of, the activity for which a permit is sought. Project Description:
The Department has made a tentative determination to modify SPDES Permit No. NY-0020419 for an existing discharge of 312,000 gallons per day (monthly average) of treated sanitary wastewater into Lake Ontario, a Class "A Special" waterbody, from a secondary treatment plant at the applicant's municipal wastewater treatment facility located at 109 Ontario Street in the Village of Wilson. The modification includes the addition of a new Daily Average limit of 0.5 mg/l for Total Chlorine Residual while continuing the current Daily Maximum limit of 2.0 mg/l for Total Chlorine Residual. The modification also includes the removal of Outfall 002, a sanitary sewer owerflow near Harbor and Ontario Streets, from the permit. The Department seeks comments on the proposed permit prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. The draft permit is available for review at the regional office.
